The Celebrating Women programme is about mentoring and learning. St Hilda herself was a wise and respected nun. During her life time she became the head of the double monastery of Streaneschalch, trained 5 Bishops and convened the Synod of Whitby, merging the Celtic and Roman Anglican traditions setting the foundations for our Synod which are still used today.
