The Parish of Upper Hutt is a ministry unit of the Wellington Anglican Diocese. The Diocese is headed by the Anglican Bishop of Wellington, Justin Duckworth. The Diocese resources the Parish in various ways including providing, ordaining, supporting and training clergy; supporting Christian commitments, especially through confirmation services; and providing general oversight and accountability.
The Parish is led by a vicar or priest in charge who works with the two church (lay) wardens and vestry to oversee the day to day work of the Parish.
Administrative and spiritual oversight of the Parish is provided by the annually elected Vestry of which the vicar/priest and church wardens are members.
Various other Parish appointments formal and informal are: associate priest, lay chaplain, secretary, treasurer, diocesan synod representatives, nominators (work with the diocese to choose vicar/priest as necessary), other church workers and group leaders.
